What Do People Replace God With...First and foremost…I replaced God with myself…the buck stops at me, which means no excuses, no sin to blame, it's just me at the helm, not looking to blame anyone anymore.
As i've noted…this can be as scary as it is liberating.
But what else do we replace God with. I'll be honest, i'm much more 'materialistic' than I used to be…I don't feel the need to suffer anymore and I celebrate the Western society that I live in. When I first gave up on God…I tried to give everything away, and it helped, I don't think I could've done without living a very simple life, but now i'm comfortable with myself, I have nothing to prove, no role to play, and I really go out there and get whatever I want these days.
My family and I eat like Kings, everyday of the year is like Christmas at our place, we eat drink and be merry. In many ways I have replaced God (and suffering) with earthly pleasures, I am very hedonistic these days. In Australia it is very easy to be hedonistic and happy…it's really just a matter of choice.
What have other people replaced God with? Peace, fulfilling relationships, meditation, education…?
